The Goethe-Institut offers all residents of Belgium free use of the Onleihe [the digital library of the Goethe-Institut].. In this digital library you can borrow e-books, e-papers, audios and videos for use on your PC or mobile device.

Our cultural programmes are primarily aimed at Belgians with and without knowledge of German. German guests are of course also welcome. For programmes for the German community in Belgium, please contact the German-speaking Community of Belgium, the Belgian-German Society of Brussels and the German Embassy in Belgium.

No. The Goethe-Institut Brussels organises its own programmes in the German-Belgian dialogue with local partner organisations. Proposals for new German-Belgian projects can be submitted through them.

If the project meets our criteria, your organisation is welcome to talk to us. Pure travel grants for programmes that have already been planned without us are not possible.

Yes, we regularly invite an artist for a comic residency in Belgium. In addition, the Goethe-Institut Brussels, in collaboration with the KIKK Festival, the creative centre TRAKK and the cultural centre Les Abattoirs de Bomel, awards a scholarship in Namur for a residency with a focus on art & technology. More information can be found on our residency website. We are interested in proposals for longer-term and sustainable residency programmes. The Goethe-Institut is not an artists' agency and unfortunately cannot offer support with the numerous requests of this kind. Our collaborations with museums and galleries are project-based. Within this framework, we develop joint residency programmes or enable the participation of artists from Germany in selected festivals and programmes of Belgian partner organisations. Unfortunately, individual requests from artists from Germany cannot be considered.
