The covid pandemic caused a fair amount of disruption in many areas: trade fairs were cancelled, publications were delayed, and things came to a standstill everywhere. This was not the case on the comic scene: we take a look at the new publications over the past year.
 

Two recent graphic novels take us back in time to the 1950s and 1970s, while two others deal with very contemporary issues: today�s world of work and the issue of cultural appropriation.

The number of new comic books published in Germany is rising � in large part thanks to a number of young artists jumping directly from the art academy straight into the book market. They are exploring everything from current socio-political topics to important historical figures.
